I just moved here from Tennessee where I was paying only $19.99 a month for the same internet service I am getting here for $34.99 -- and this price is only because I am bundling service. Now bundling service isn't that bad of a thing except I don't need a phone at all so this morning I called them to see if I could trade my phone service for something else that I would actually use ... like a cable box or on demand. I was told that a cable box is $4.99 & the on demand feature with a dvr is $14.99. Great! That's exactly what I'm paying for my phone service. I was told I couldn't do that. If I unbundle my phone my internet service will go up to $58.99 a month & then the box & other service would be in addition to that. What a ripoff !! And the fact that they have a monopoly on the whole thing seems illegal if you ask me. So instead of a happy satisfied customer they have a very disgruntled customer who feels taken advantage of and trapped. I'm guessing that's why they don't want any competition.
